We have designed our wooden nickel program to encourage our patients to maintain excellent oral hygiene throughout treatment and to provide an incentive to enlist our patients’ help in sharing our name with the community. We also have a way for the younger siblings of our patients to participate in this program. Wooden nickels can be earned in the following ways:
Oral Hygiene Contest
We reward our patients who exhibit outstanding oral hygiene. We evaluate your brushing at each visit.
Excellent brushing = 2 wooden nickels
(Teeth and braces are spotless)
Good brushing = 1 wooden nickel
(Teeth and braces are clean with very little evidence of plaque)
In addition, you must:
- have worn your rubber bands, headgear, neckgear or any other appliances as instructed.
- have no loose or broken appliances.
- be coming in for your regularly scheduled appointment.
T-Shirt Contest:
We give each patient a Dr. Tanner and Dr. Reichhold logo T-Shirt. We want our patients to share our name with their family, friends and the community. If the T-shirt is worn the entire day and to your regularly scheduled appointment, we will award 2 wooden nickels.
Coloring Contest:
Our patients and siblings can earn 1 wooden nickel for entering our monthly coloring contest. The winners of the coloring contest will be awarded 5 wooden nickels. You can print this sheet, color it at home, and bring it in to our office for a wooden nickel.
